Bio
Dr. Ming, L.Ac., DACM, BSN, is a nationally board-certified practitioner of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM)®, licensed acupuncturist, and co-owner of Holistic Resonance Center in San Diego, where she shares a practice with her husband, Dr. Timothy Dooley, M.D., N.D., a homeopathic physician. She earned her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in 2020, her Master’s in Traditional Oriental Medicine in 1992, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2025. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University, with plans to become a Family Nurse Practitioner.
After two decades spent homeschooling her four children and managing her husband’s integrative medical practice, Dr. Ming re-entered clinical work in 2015 following advanced training in Classical Five Element Acupuncture. While treating patients with chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, and other complex conditions, she observed that acupuncture and homeopathy often made them feel better—but they didn’t truly get better. When one of her patients became involved in a mold-related lawsuit, she began researching the Shoemaker Protocol and was introduced to the work of Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker and the clinical model of Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS), a multi-system multisymptom illness triggered by exposure to biotoxins such as those found in water-damaged buildings. As she studied the protocol, she was stunned to discover that virtually all of her patients had biomarker abnormalities and genetic susceptibility consistent with CIRS. This led her to pursue formal training, and in 2017 she became the first licensed acupuncturist certified in the Shoemaker Protocol, the structured, evidence-based approach to diagnosing and treating biotoxin-related illness.
Her clinical and research interests now center on environmental illness, biotoxin-induced inflammation, and integrative approaches to chronic complex disease.
She is the primary author of four peer-reviewed publications, including:
• A Review of Mold Research Literature from 2011–2018 (2020),
• Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome: A Review of the Evidence of Clinical Efficacy of Treatment (2024),
• Fatigue and Exposure to Mold and/or Dampness: A Systematic Review (in publication 2025),
• and Biomarkers Over Time: From Visual Contrast Sensitivity to Transcriptomics in Differentiating CIRS and ME/CFS, (2025) in the special edition Advances in Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), 2nd Edition in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences (Impact Factor 4.9).
She also contributed as a co-author to the Diagnostic Process for Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS): A Consensus Statement (2018). Dr. Ming is a regular speaker at the international CIRS conference and remains deeply engaged in advancing both clinical practice and patient education within the CIRS community. She is also active in legal-medical work, providing documentation to support disability claims, accommodations, and litigation for patients affected by CIRS.
In 2025, a colleague introduced Dr. Ming to the Prodrome Scan and the concept of plasmalogen therapy. Intrigued, she began exploring Dr. Dayan Goodenowe’s extensive, data-driven research—spanning epidemiological analyses, mechanistic studies, and early supplementation trials. The scientific foundation, along with patient-reported outcomes and anecdotal improvements in memory, mobility, and mood, resonated deeply. She was excited to integrate plasmalogens into her private practice to help restore health—not only for individuals with complex chronic illness, but for anyone seeking to achieve and sustain optimal wellness.
Dr. Ming divides her time between her clinical office in San Diego and her off-grid home in Winslow, Arizona, where she is building a prototype SIREWALL® tiny house and designing a mold-safe recovery community for individuals with CIRS.
Outside of work, she enjoys meditation, aquaponic gardening, hiking, and cycling. She can be reached at ming@holisticresonancecenter.com or 858-222-3427. Email is preferred.
Clinic Information
Holistic Resonance Center, located at 2525 Camino Del Rio S, #130, San Diego, CA 92108 is the name and location of Dr. Ming’s practice, where she provides individualized, evidence-based care for patients navigating complex chronic illness. Her current focus includes Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS)—a multi-system, multi-symptom condition triggered by exposure to biotoxins, most commonly from water-damaged buildings, that causes a dysregulation of the innate immune system. Additional areas of focus include plasmalogen replacement therapy. Services will expand to include Physiologic Hormone Replacement Therapy (PHRT) upon completion of her Family Nurse Practitioner education.
Dr. Ming works closely with each patient to understand their story, environment, and goals—offering thoughtful, personalized care rooted in both science and lived experience. Her practice is intentionally small, allowing her to give each person the time and attention they need. While the model is concierge in nature, it remains accessible—without the concierge price tag.
Patients in California are seen under Dr. Ming’s California acupuncture license. Out-of-state care over Zoom is provided separately under her certification with the First Nation Medical Board.
As a solo practitioner without office staff, Dr. Ming handles all communication herself.
