David Socol, MD
Socol MD
Beverly Hills, CA
Endocrinology / Traumatic Brain Injury
Bio
Dr. Socol graduated from Temple University School of Medicine in 1995 and retrained in functional medicine while working at the Boeing Corporation (on a third-party contract basis) for nearly 20 years. During this time, his clinical attention was drawn toward the management of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) injury, which prompted additional education in interventional endocrinology, or the use of hormone therapy to treat mTBI. After creating Socol MD in 2016, Dr. Socol embedded himself in the use of functional genomics to optimize outcomes in people with mTBI, neurodegenerative diseases such as dementia, multiple sclerosis, tremor, and Parkinson's, among others, as well as autism and Trisomy 21. His sustained focus in this clinical arena prompted the adoption of lipid therapy, including plasmalogens, in a continued pursuit of improving clinical outcomes for those who are neurodivergent or living with neurodegenerative disease.
Dr. Socol has given numerous lectures in his clinical areas of interest, turn-keyed the funding for an mTBI-specific genomic panel, and filed provisional patents with the USPTO in 2024 for various technologies and processes related to his work.
Dr. Socol lives in Southern California with his wife and four children.
